Sarah has been a member at Highland Park since 1990 when her family moved from Mississippi when her father became senior minister. Sarah graduated from McCallum High School in 2005 and through high school participated in GenAustin, a girls mentoring group, played on the golf and lacrosse team and taught Spanish at the Retirement and Nursing center. She worked in the YMCA nursery for 3 years and started her long lasting babysitting career with the kids of Highland Park.

Sarah is now an Education major with a specialization in reading and religious studies minor at the University of Texas. She is looking forward to student teaching in SE Austin and teaching adult literacy.  After graduation she hopes to join World Teach and teach in Africa or Micronesia.

Sarah has worked at Highland Park since Fall 2006; helping lead Wednesday night programs, assisted with Sunday school planning and is a Sunday school teacher. Sarah also helps Cheryl Hill with Super Stars, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Camp and Final 5 over the summer.

Sarah likes bike riding, baking and when she can, going with her dad and sister to go work on their organic farm.
